Since 2014, Pascale Léger has been shining in the world of snowshoeing. In this interview, she shares with us her inspiring journey, her remarkable victories, and her passion for Faber snowshoes.
Q: How long have you been competing?
Pascale Léger: I have been participating in competitions since 2014. It's been several years since I've been devoted to this ever-growing passion.
Q: What made you want to start competing?
PL: My former employer, Laval Hospital (now IUCPQ), was very proactive in the Snow Pentathlon. Their enthusiasm and support encouraged me to embark on this sporting adventure.
Q: Can you give us some examples of competitions you have participated in?
PL: Certainly, I've participated in several important competitions. I achieved 3rd place as a team in the Health and Social Services Pentathlon in 2014 and 2015. At the 2015 World Winter Masters Games, I won 3rd place in the women's 5 km category. I also stood on the podium in 2016, 2019, and 2020 during the team Pentathlon. In 2020, I won 3rd place in the women's category at the Canadian Championship (Snownergie) in St-Ferreol, and in 2023, I achieved 1st place in the same category.
Q: Can you tell us more about the titles you have won?
PL: These titles represent the culmination of years of dedication and training for me. They symbolize my passion for snowshoeing and my constant desire to exceed my limits.
Q: Can you tell us more about the competition you will be participating in February 2024?
PL: I will be participating in the 2024 Canadian Championship (Snownergie) to defend my title. It's an event I am eagerly anticipating and for which I am rigorously training.
Q: How long have you been using Faber snowshoes?
PL: I have been using Faber snowshoes since my start in 2014. I have the Sommet 826 model. I plan to add the S-line Off-Trail to my collection.
Q: What do you like about Faber snowshoes?
PL: What I appreciate most about Faber is the lightness and durability of their snowshoes. They are also very comfortable, which is crucial in competition. The after-sales service is excellent!
